Considers applications for permits to keep animals within Washoe County

The Board oversees the permitting process for residents who either want to own exotic animals or a number of animals in excess of the limit established by Washoe County Code. The board considers applications and its recommendation for approval or denial.

Membership

The board is comprised of seven members; one from each commission district; one who has qualifications demonstrating knowledge in the care of and supervision of exotic animals; one representative of a Humane organization. Members are appointed by the County Commission to a four-year term.

Time Commitment

The board meets the second Tuesday of the last month of each quarter.
