The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at the Lazy 5 Regional Park at 7100 Pyramid Way. Patrons can enjoy a free hamburger or hot dog courtesy of the concert series’ sponsor, Summit Christian Church, and raffle prizes will be offered. For more information, call (775) 823-6500.
“The ninth season of the free concert series has been great,” said Washoe County Park Ranger Barbara Borges. “To date, this year’s record attendance was 982 with an average attendance of 600 per concert. We’ve had excellent entertainment by local bands and we really appreciate the support of the sponsors. A special thanks to all the volunteers from Summit Christian Church who give their time to serve a free meal each week, as well as the local Boy Scouts and Law Enforcement Explorers who have volunteered to make this a safe and clean concert series.”
