Washoe County public safety agencies host crime prevention and public safety fair April 5.

Reminder! Reno, Nevada. March 28, 2014. Public safety agencies from throughout Washoe County will hold a Crime Prevention and Safety Fair in North Valleys at the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Station Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

“Lights, Sirens, Safety” is free and the public is encouraged to attend to learn about a variety of crime prevention and personal safety topics. Safety fair visitors may take part in interactive demonstrations, equipment exhibits, free pet microchipping, free blood pressure testing, and more. The Sheriff’s Office will also provide free safety activity books for children. 

Participating organizations include: Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD),  Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (Patrol, Motors, K-9, Reserves, Sheriff’s Mobile Auxiliary Response Team (S.M.A.R.T), Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), AlertID/Neighborhood Watch, Regional Animal Services, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), and Emergency Services Dispatch Center.
