Washoe County Regional Animal Services is hosting an introductory, public, informational meeting to discuss proposed changes to the animal control ordinance Tuesday, July 15, at 5:30 p.m.

Staff will discuss how an ordinance is amended in Washoe County, including the process that will be used for public feedback for the proposed animal ordinance. Issues up for discussion include: nuisance regulations (ex. barking dogs); retail sales; trap, neuter and release of feral cats; exotic animals; and dangerous dogs.

What: Informational public meeting about possible animal ordinance changes and ordinance amendment process

When: Tuesday, July 15, at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Washoe County Commission Chambers at 1001 East Ninth Street, Bldg A., Reno

Washoe County Regional Animal Services will also host a series of workshops in August asking the community for input. A final document for presentation to the Board of County Commissioners is planned for October.
