Reno, Nevada. October 3, 2014. If you enjoy hiking scenic trails, and love to take nature photography, then you will not want to miss the "Fall Photo Hikes" series.
Join Washoe County Park Rangers on the first four Fridays in October and explore some of our area’s most scenic trails. This series is meant to provide amateur photographers and hiking enthusiasts alike with the opportunity to capture their own spectacular fall photography. If this sounds like fun, then bring a jacket, a sturdy pair of hiking boots, a bottle of water, and of course your favorite camera. The hikes will take between 1-2 hours, weather permitting.
The Fall Photo Hikes series starts Friday, Oct. 3, at the Thomas Creek Trailhead at the end of Timberline Road at 5:00 p.m. The following Friday, October 10, the hike will begin at the Michael D. Thompson Trailhead on Woodchuck Circle at 5:00 p.m. On Friday, October 17, explore the Nature Trails at Crystal Peak Park off Old Highway 40 in Verdi at 4:00 p.m. The last hike will take place at Bartley Ranch Regional Park on Friday, October 24, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Historic Huffaker School.
The "Sierra-Nevada Autumn" Photo Exhibit in the Western Heritage Interpretive Center is another great reason to come to Bartley Ranch Regional Park in October! It will be open Oct. 1-30, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The exhibit will feature photos presented by local photographers expressing their favorite views of Nevada and the Sierras. Visitors will be asked to vote for “People’s Choice,” and all participating photographers will be asked to vote for “Artist’s Choice.”
