Reno, Nevada. Oct. 27, 2014. Nevada Assemblyman, Peter Livermore, 73, will be laid to rest today, Oct. 27. Livermore passed away in Carson City last week.

Livermore’s legacy was far-reaching and will have a lasting impact for many years to come. He was a former U.S. Marine, a successful businessman, served 12 years as a Carson City Supervisor and most recently, an Assemblyman at the Nevada Legislature.

He served on several committees, including Commerce and Labor, Government Affairs, Natural Resources, and Agriculture and Mining, just to name a few.

Livermore oversaw District 40, which is also part of Washoe County District 2, Washoe County Commission Chair David Humke’s district. Chairman Humke said Livermore was a good man who spent his life making a difference.

“Assemblyman Livermore was a well-spoken, smart man who was loyal to improving the quality of life for all Nevadans,” said Humke. “His passing represents a change in leadership and an opportunity for the next generation to step up, but Livermore will not be easily replaced. Nevada will miss him.”
